| Failure to have a bowel movement or rectal blood after use of a laxative may indicate a serious condition. Discontinue use and consult a physician.
Saline cathartics can produce dehydration without adequate fluid replacement. The phosphate salts may provide excessive Sodium to patients who must restrict Sodium intake (CHF, Oedema). |
